One owner bought the main unit and two add on modules, found them inaccurate, returned them, and received replacements that measured correctly. Then the app told them the firmware needed updating. After the update, the measurements were wrong again. That is the single strangest failure we have documented anywhere on this site.
The concept is genuinely interesting and the hardware can measure correctly. What we cannot recommend is a measuring instrument whose accuracy depends on an app, where the manufacturer's own firmware update has been reported to break it, and where support did not reply.

This review, which twelve other buyers found helpful, deserves setting out in full because of what it rules out.
The owner had high hopes. They bought the main unit plus the scale roller and the bilateral laser modules, so they were committed to the system rather than trying it casually. The units they received were inaccurate, so they returned them and got replacements.
The replacements measured correctly. That is the crucial detail: the hardware can do the job.
Then the Meazor app told them the firmware needed updating. They ran the update. After it, the measurements were wrong again, and the measure button on the main unit sometimes needed several presses to trigger a reading. They noted these were the same problems the first set of units had.
Most products we advise against are simply out of tolerance, and you can decide whether the error is correctable and whether it matters for your work. This is a measuring instrument whose accuracy changed after a software update pushed by the manufacturer.
That means you cannot verify it once and rely on it. A calibration check on Monday tells you nothing about Thursday if an update lands in between. For a tool whose entire purpose is producing a number you trust, we do not think there is a way to recommend that.
Even setting the firmware aside, the Meazor app draws serious complaints on its own.
One iPhone owner called it completely useless, reporting that it sometimes loses the image or the measurements, and that exporting an image crashes the app. They reached out for technical support and received no response.
That matters more here than on most products. On a Bosch or a Klein the app is a convenience and the tool works without it. This is a system designed around the app, with modules that feed into it, so app failure is product failure.
It is worth comparing with what we found elsewhere. Leica's software is the one owners consistently do not complain about, and a pest control technician reports it pairing instantly with an iPhone and an iPad. That is the standard a phone dependent measuring tool has to meet.
Owners have also reported errors of up to twenty centimetres in sunlight, which is around eight inches.
Every unit we cover struggles outdoors, and we have been consistent that this is physics rather than a fault. What separates a normal daylight limitation from this is that most tools fail to read at all, giving you an obvious error. Returning a plausible number that is eight inches wrong is a different and worse behaviour, because nothing tells you it has happened.
We want to be fair about why people buy it, because the idea is genuinely good.
A modular measuring system, where a single handheld unit takes a laser distance, then a scale roller measures curves and irregular runs a laser cannot follow, then a bilateral module shoots both ways at once, addresses a real gap. We have documented owners defeated by exactly those problems: a laser that could not read curved galvanised metal on a quonset hut, and the general fact that light travels in straight lines and mouldings do not.
If the software were dependable this would be an interesting tool. At 4.2 across 102 ratings, plenty of owners evidently are happy with theirs.
Check it against a known length now, and check it again after any firmware update rather than assuming the update improved things. The procedure takes five minutes.
Measure the same fixed distance four times to confirm it repeats, then measure a known length to confirm it is right. Those are two different tests and this product has been reported failing both.
If the app driven workflow is what appeals. Leica's software is the one that works. The DISTO D1 is the cheapest route in, and critically the tool measures perfectly well without a phone attached.
If two way measuring was the draw. The Huepar dual laser publishes separate tolerances for one way and two way measurement, which is more honesty than most of that category offers.
If you need to measure curves. No laser can follow one. A tape wraps, and that is one of the jobs where a tape wins outright.
If you want a tool that cannot be broken by an update. Anything without connected firmware. The Bosch range measures the same way on the day you sell it as on the day you bought it.
